UP Election 2022 Phase 2: Uttar Pradesh witnesses 51.93% voter turnout till 3 pm

Lucknow: The second phase of polling has started in Uttar Pradesh. Voting is going on in 9 districts for 55 seats here today. 586 candidates have entered the fray from these 9 districts. Of these, 2.02 crore voters will exercise their vote for 55 assembly seats in Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rampur, Amroha, Badaun, Bareilly and Shahjahanpur districts.

During the voting in Hasanpur seat, Samajwadi candidate Mukhiya Gurjar and his supporters created a ruckus at booth number-80 of Hasanpur, accusing the supporters of lathi-charge.
Mirzapur: Kirti Kol, daughter of tribal society, filed her nomination on a Samajwadi Party ticket in Chhanabe assembly seat. Kirti Kol is in the fray for basic amenities in tribal-dominated areas. SP leader Imran Masood along with his family reached the polling booth in Saharanpur today to exercise their franchise. Imran Masood claimed that BJP will not get more than 100 seats in the state. He said, the flag of SP will be hoisted in Saharanpur. BJP will be at zero. He said, 'People are fed up with the rule of BJP. There have been many incidents like Unnao incident, Hathras, Lakhimpur. Now people have understood. People are suffering, this time SP's government will be formed.

Amidst the second phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh today, CM Yogi Adityanath said a lot in an interview given to news agency ANI. In this, CM Yogi claimed that after the first phase of polling, it is clear that BJP will form the government. He said that after the first phase of polling, the voters have cooled down on Akhilesh-Jayant.
Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati has tweeted for the second phase of voting today. She wrote, 'Like your life and property, respect your vote, protect your vote. Use the constitutional right to vote, free from all kinds of greed and fear etc. Each and every vote of you is the real strength and guarantee of the country's constitution and its democracy. In the second phase, voting has started from 7:00 am today, February 14. Today, voters of 8 Vidhan Sabha of Bijnor will go out to vote and choose their MLA. In Bijnor's 8 Vidhan Sabha, police have been deployed at all the polling stations and places in every corner. In order to avoid any lapse, PAC and local police along with paramilitary force have been deployed in the elections. Since morning, the voters are seeing the trend regarding the elections.
