One dead as roof of two-storey house collapses in Muzaffarnagar, 12 people pulled out from debris

The deceased was identified as Mohit, a resident of Bilari Niyamatpur, Moradabad, while the injured were identified as Ramchandra, Harishchandra, Sunil, Vicky, Aditya, Rahul, Anurag, Navneet, Vipin Kumar, Rahul, Bablu and Sanjeev.

A laborer died and more than a dozen people were injured when the roof of a two-storey house collapsed in Jansath police station area of Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Mohit, a resident of Bilari Niyamatpur, Moradabad, while the injured were identified as Ramchandra, Harishchandra, Sunil, Vicky, Aditya, Rahul, Anurag, Navneet, Vipin Kumar, Rahul, Bablu and Sanjeev.

Muzaffarnagar District Magistrate Arvind Malappa Bangari said that the accident happened on Sunday evening in Talda village of Jansath police station area, on receiving information about which police and NDRF and SDRF teams reached the spot and started the rescue operation. The District Magistrate said that one person died and 12 people were pulled out of the debris and taken to the district hospital.

He said that relief and rescue operations are going on. The official said that the concrete of the roof is being cut to rescue other people who are feared trapped. He told that about 25 people were working in the house at the time of the incident. The District Magistrate said that senior police and administration officials are monitoring the rescue operation.
