Security Increased in Meerut Ahead of PM Modi's Visit, Ban Imposed on Flying Drones and Kites

Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, March 30: In view of the proposed rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled for March 31 in Meerut, District Magistrate Deepak Meena has enhanced security measures. Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been imposed, restricting aerial displays up to a radius of eight kilometers from the rally venue, along with a ban on flying drones and kites. The District Magistrate has instructed all station chiefs to strictly enforce the orders in their respective areas.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Meerut, Western Uttar Pradesh, to kick off the Lok Sabha election campaign. BJP district president Shivkumar Rana stated that for the rally scheduled to be held at the Central Potato Research Institute ground on Sunday evening at half past three, the aim is to gather three lakh people through 180 buses, 600 cars, and tractors. Residents of villages and colonies within a five-kilometer radius are being invited to attend the rally.

Rallod spokesperson Atir Rezvi mentioned that Rallod head Chaudhary Jayant Singh will share the stage with BJP. Senior BJP leader and former student union president Ankit Chaudhary stated that this is the first rally of the 2024 elections, and party workers are fortunate to start the election campaign from the revolutionary land with the Prime Minister.

According to government spokespersons, four helipads are being constructed for the Prime Minister's rally. Three helipads have been built at the Central Potato Research Institute ground for the Prime Minister's helicopters. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's helicopter will land 200 meters away from the rally venue at Rombas School.

It is worth mentioning that on February 2, 2014, as a candidate for the Prime Minister's post, Narendra Modi had addressed the Vijay Sankalp rally in Shatabdi Nagar, Meerut. Then, in 2019, on March 28, Narendra Modi, as Prime Minister for the second time, held a rally near Vidya Toll Plaza.
