Negative global cues subdue equity indices; Sensex opens red

New Delhi: Broadly negative Asian markets subdued the key domestic indices to trade in the red during the early morning session on Monday.

According to market observers, domestic macro-industrial output data point released on Friday and heavy selling in capital goods counter, eroded investors' risk taking appetite.

At 0940 hours, the S&P BSE Sensex declined by 67.84 points or 0.20 per cent to 33,246.72 points from its previous close.

Similarly, the wider NSE Nifty 50 was down by 25.15 points or 0.24 per cent to 10,296.60 points.
