Varanasi: Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik who has often been attacked by state parliamentary affairs minister Azam Khan for some of his decisions hit him back here on Tuesday.

Naik who had come to offer prayers to lord Ganesh in a Marathi speaking area told a group of waiting media persons that Azam had “crossed limits” on not one but several occasions.

He is a senior ruling Samajwadi Party politician and holds an important portfolio and , as such, he should act with restraiont, governor advised. He said he would not like to make any other comment on him.

It may be recalled that the minister has recently called Prime Minister Narendra Modi “ coward” which was not liked by many political leaders including some in his own party.

Naik is an annual visitor to the city during the Ganesh Puja. He had come here last year too.
