Devendra Fadnavis waives off loans of 89 lakh farmers

Mumbai: Maharashtra government on Saturday decided to waive off farmers' loans worth Rs 34,000 crore. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the government is waiving off loans of upto Rs 1.5 lakhs of every farmer.

He said that state government will give 25% loan return benefit to the farmers who have paid back their loans regularly.

"Those farmers who have paid back their loans regularly will be given 25% loan return benefit," said Fadnavis.

Maharashtra CM said all the ministers and MLAs will give their one month salary in order to support the farm loan waiver.
