Opposition grand alliance demand equal opportunity for parties in mega rally in Delhi

Which also includes the demand for the immediate release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Before the Lok Sabha elections, a big rally was organized by the opposition alliance 'Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance' (INDIA) at the historic Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Many leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Sitaram Yechury participated in this rally. Five-point demands have been made by the opposition parties from Ramlila Maidan. Which also includes the demand for the immediate release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra put forward these demands on behalf of the 'INDIA' alliance from the stage in the opposition's 'Save Democracy Maharally'.

The opposition said, “The Election Commission should ensure level playing field in the Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission should stop the action taken by the investigating agencies against the opposition parties with the aim of rigging the elections. Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal should be released immediately. The forcible action to financially strangle opposition political parties during elections should be stopped immediately."

Opposition put forward 5 point demand:

  • The Election Commission of India should ensure equal rights in elections.
  • The Election Commission should stop the action of the agencies.
  • Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren should be released.
  • An SIT should be formed and the electoral bonds should be investigated under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
  • The accounts of opposition parties that have been frozen should be opened immediately.
