Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers will observe a mass fast today against the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister. CM Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested in the corruption case related to Delhi Liquor Policy and currently he is in judicial custody.

AAP leader Gopal Rai said that Arvind Kejriwal's supporters in the country and abroad will also take part in the party's mass fast. "People can observe fast at their homes and support the Delhi Chief Minister," he said.

All MLAs and officials were gathered at Jantar Mantar at 11 am for mass fasting. Police are preparing for a huge crowd, so security has been increased on the roads leading to the protest site. Due to heavy barricading, traffic may also be affected in some parts of Central Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party had organized a siege at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month. During this time, many AAP leaders and workers, including women, were packed in buses and taken to different police stations of NCR.

AAP had targeted the BJP over the timing of the arrest and alleged that it was trying to stop Kejriwal from campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. AAP ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the Chief Minister is issuing orders from the ED's reference and assured the people of Delhi that the Chief Minister is constantly thinking about their welfare.

AAP has said that it will not make any changes in the leadership even if Arvind Kejriwal continues to work as Chief Minister from jail. However, BJP has termed Arvind Kejriwal's 'plan to work from jail' as a sham.

Kejriwal's arrest has also united the opposition faction, which was recently making headlines more for its differences than its unity.

Last Sunday, INDIA Alliance had organized a mega rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, demonstrating its strength. During this, they had accused BJP of eliminating the opposition through central investigative agencies.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in the alleged liquor policy scam case after he did not respond to nine summons of the central agency, and since then he has been running his government from the ED lock-up.

The central agency has accused the AAP leader of being a "conspirator". The ED believes that the now-canceled policy provided high profit margins and the bribe money was allegedly used to finance AAP's election campaigns.

In this connection, AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh and Bharat Rashtra Samiti leader Kavita have been arrested. However, opposition leaders have denied these allegations and accused the BJP-led central government of using investigating agencies like ED and CBI for political purposes.
