New Delhi: The use of Pfizer-BioNtech's Corona vaccine has been stopped in Hong Kong on the basis of packaging malfunctions. Fosun Pharma, a vaccine-distributing company in Hong Kong, found a defect in the vial lid of a batch of vaccines. On this basis, its use is banned with immediate effect.

According to the information, BioNotech and Fosun Pharma have not detected any type of malfunction in the vaccine. The packaging of batch number 210202 has been found to be defective. As a precaution, the use of Pfizer vaccine has been banned.

"For the sake of precaution, the current vaccination must be suspended during the period of investigation,” the Hong Kong Government says.

The board suspects that AstraZeneca used old data during the trial. So it is difficult to tell exactly how effective this vaccine is. The final decision on the use of this vaccine in America will be made by an Advisory Committee.
