On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, leading cricketers came forward to express gratitude towards their mentors and coaches.

New Delhi: On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, people are thanking their teachers/Guru's across the nation. Cricketers were no behind in the league and took to their social social to express gratitude towards their mentors. Legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar led the series of wishes. Meanwhile, others also penned a heartfelt note and posted it on their social media accounts.

It is very true that behind all successful players, a great coach has played the instrumental part. Tendulkar has always come forward to talk about his mentor, Ramakant Achrekar and part he played in shaping his career. Hence, t Sachin speaks highly of Achrekar till date.

Sachin captioned the post as-

"On Guru Purnima, I want to thank all the people who have taught & inspired me to give my best. However, to these three gentlemen I am ever grateful. #GuruPurnima" Three people to whom Sachin gave a special mention are- His father, his brother (Ajit Tendulkar), and coach Ramakant Achrekar.

Yuvraj Singh also stepped forward to thank his teachers and mentors. While the ace batsman defeated cancer, he told, his mother has been his biggest strength.

Suresh Raina also expressed gratitude towards Guru's on the special day.

To talk of cricket, its resuming next week amid all safety norms for coronavirus. Current champions, England will be hosting West-Indies for a 3-match Test series which will commence on 8th July. The match will mark resumption of the International cricket after COVID-19 hiatus.
