PM Modi to launch Matsya Sampada Yojana just before Bihar Election

New Delhi: Before the assembly elections, Bihar is going to get a big gift once again. This gift will be given by the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi to Bihar today. He will hand over 294.53 crore schemes to the state. All these gifts to Bihar are associated with the Department of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Agriculture.

Today, PM Modi will also announce the launch of the project costing 107 crore under the Matsya Sampada Yojana. In addition, for the direct use of farmers, a comprehensive breed improvement, market and information related e-Gopala app will also be launched.

Development plan for Fisheries sector:

PMMSY is a focused and sustainable development plan on the fisheries sector. Which is to implement in all the states during the period from FY 2020-2021 to 2024-2025 under the Self-reliant India Package. An estimated investment of Rs 20,050 crore made in this scheme.

This investment is the largest investment in the fisheries sector. Of this, an investment of about Rs 12,340 crore is in proposal. For beneficiary-focused activities in marine, inland fisheries and aquaculture, and an investment of Rs 7,710 crore for fisheries infrastructure.

PM Modi to launch schemes for farmers:

The objectives of the scheme include increasing the fish production by an additional 70 lakh tonnes by 2024-25, increasing the income from fish exports to Rs 1,00,000 crore by 2024-25, doubling the income of fishermen and fisher farmers, post-harvest losses of 20-25 percent. To be reduced to 10 percent and to provide 55 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities in fisheries sector and allied activities.

A statement issued from the PMO said that PM Modi will also launch some other schemes related to fisheries and animal husbandry in Bihar on this occasion. Assembly elections are due in Bihar in October-November this year.
