New Delhi: Indian soldiers standing at border for our safety all day and night. At border in Ladakh they have to maintain extreme working temperature or winter.

The army still stands still in the temperature of -20 to 30 degrees, but in this terrible cold, normal diesel stops working and starts to freeze. In such a situation, the soldiers have trouble in movement. Now the army is going to get a special kind of diesel.

Winter diesel is a special type of fuel. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) last year built this diesel for use in areas of very high places off the coast. In areas where the temperature is below 20 to 30 degrees below minus or very cold, this diesel can be used. This is because the flow of normal diesel stops in such cold areas.

Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh continue to freeze in sub-zero temperatures

Diesel for use in temperature below minus 30 degree:

The Director General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) of the Indian Army has sought permission from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to use winter diesel. The IOC claims that this winter diesel will work even in temperatures below minus 30 degrees.

Compared to normal diesel, winter diesel has such elements that it keeps its viscosity low so that the engine is supplied without interruption of fuel. In such a situation, diesel is also used in temperatures less than minus.
