UP Scholarship Update: Pending Students Will Get Money In Bank By This Date

Students in Uttar Pradesh who were waiting for their scholarship payment can finally relax a bit. The state government has confirmed that pending scholarship money will be credited directly into students’ bank accounts by 16 March. Around 5.87 lakh students were stuck due to technical issues, delayed results, and incomplete college data. Now the payment process has been restarted and the money will reach accounts through direct transfer.

Why Many Students Did Not Get Scholarship Earlier

A lot of students were confused earlier. Some even thought their application got rejected, but that wasn’t the case always.

During the academic session 2024–25, several universities and colleges delayed their internal process. Some institutes did not forward student applications on time. In other cases, exam results came very late, so students were unable to apply properly on the scholarship portal.

Because of this, a huge amount of student data remained pending with district committees. The scholarship process simply got stuck there. Students from courses like BPharma, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, BEd and DElEd were affected the most.

For many of them, the wait has been going on for months. Some even for almost two years.

Government Finally Fixes A Final Payment Date

After seeing the delay, the Uttar Pradesh government took a stricter stand. The Social Welfare Department released a revised schedule so that pending students finally receive their money.

According to the new timeline, district level committees were asked to complete the master data lock process by 1 March. This step is important because without data lock the payment cannot move forward in the system.

After that, officials will generate the online demand through the NIC system. Once this happens, the scholarship amount will be transferred directly to student bank accounts.

The final deadline for payment is 16 March.

How The Scholarship Money Will Reach Students

The payment will be sent through the Direct Benefit Transfer system. That means the money goes straight to the student’s bank account linked with the scholarship application.

No middle step, no manual payment process. Everything happens digitally.

Students do not need to visit any office now. If their application and bank details are correct, the amount will automatically be credited.

Though sometimes banks take a little time to reflect the transaction, so a small delay of one or two days can still happen.

Big Relief For Lakhs Of Students

This update is a big relief, honestly. Many students depend on this scholarship money for fees, books, and daily expenses.

When payments got delayed earlier, students kept checking the portal again and again. Nobody was clearly telling what exactly happened.

Now at least there is a clear date and plan. Around 5.87 lakh affected students are expected to receive their scholarship before 16 March.

For those who were waiting for long time, this announcement feels like a much needed relief. If everything goes as scheduled, the pending scholarship amount should soon appear in their bank accounts.
