Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli announce retirement from T20 International cricket

India captain Rohit Sharma and ace batter Virat Kohli announced their retirement from T20 International cricket. After winning the T20 World Cup, Sharma said goodbye to T20 International cricket saying that this is the right time to retire.Kohli also retired from this format after the seven-run win in the final against South Africa.

"This was my last match too and this is the right time to retire. I wanted to win the title at all costs. I can't describe it in words." He said, "This is what I wanted and it happened. I was very desperate for this in my life. I am happy that we could win this time." Rohit was also the captain in the 2022 T20 World Cup when India were defeated by England in the semi-finals. A year later, in the 50-over World Cup, the Indian team led by Rohit lost to Australia in the final.

Rohit scored 4231 runs in 159 matches in T20 cricket, including five centuries and 32 half-centuries. He will continue to play Tests and ODIs.
