Mumbai: Pakistani-American terrorist David Headley on Thursday told the special court that Ishrat Jahan, was a Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) operative. She was killed in an encounter in 2004 in Gujarat.
Headley is deposing before the special court for the third day.
The 19-year-old girl and three others were killed in that encounter by the Gujarat police. They were accused of being involved in a plot to assassinate Narendra Modi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
What he said:
- Terrorist outfit LeT has a women’s wing.
- LeT handler Sajid Mir gave Headley 40,000 Pakistani rupees.
- He said that he knew Muzzamil had planned the attack at Akshardham temple at Gujarat.
- Muzzamil told him that after Babri Masjid was demolished they were free to attack temples in India.
