The Indian Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that there is a possibility of snowfall in many areas of Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next two days. At the same time, the minimum temperature is likely to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius in many parts of North-West India in the next 3-5 days.

The Meteorological Department has predicted cold wave in different parts of Punjab, Haryana and eastern Uttar Pradesh. There are also chances of rain in some states. Regarding relief from the harsh cold, IMD has said in its new updates that there may soon be relief from cold in the plains of the country.

Talking about today's weather, according to Skymet Weather report, light to moderate rain and snowfall is possible in Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Light rain and snowfall may occur in parts of Himachal Pradesh and upper reaches of Uttarakhand.

At the same time, rain is expected in many states of the country today. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light to very light rain is possible at 1 or 2 places over Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Proving the forecast of the Meteorological Department correct, there is dense to very dense fog in different parts of the national capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and North Rajasthan. Cold day to severe cold day conditions are likely to continue in some parts of Bihar and then cold day conditions are likely to continue for the next 2 days. Cold-day conditions may occur in some parts of Uttar Pradesh.
