Building collapses in Noida: 3 dead, more than 30 still trapped

Noida: At least three people lost their lives and more than 30 people were still trapped under the debris as the six-storey under-construction building collapsed on the four-storey building in the Shahberi village of Noida.

The National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have been deployed at the spot. Drilling machines and JCBs have been also brought to clear the debris and remove the metal rods.

  • Around 10-12 people were living in the building.
  • Heavy police force has been deployed to manage the huge crowd gathered around the incident place.
  • Rescue commissioner Sanjay Kumar stated that District Administration has been told to ensure immediate rescue.
  • Police has detained the owner of the Building Ganga Saran Dwivedi whereas the builder Kasim is still absconding.
  • It is to be said that the material used for making the building was of poor quality because of which led to the mishap.
