Tagging four media reports on farmers and workers' suicides with a post on Twitter, Priyanka Gandhi said in Bundelkhand four farmers and labourers committed suicide in the last one week.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's office on Tuesday said the Uttar Pradesh government has demanded that the 1,000 buses the party wants to ply for ferrying migrant labourers back to the state be handed over in Lucknow this morning and alleged that the move is politically motivated.
"In entire Uttar Pradesh criminals are roaming around freely, doing whatever they wish. Criminal incidents continue to happen but it has fallen on deaf ears of the BJP government. Has the Uttar Pradesh government surrendered before criminals?" the Congress general secretary tweeted.
The Congress’s general secretary in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh, while interacting with media, also took a dig at the BJP over its promotion drive saying, "Report card, promotions, all of it sounds good but there's nothing on the ground, I'm meeting people every day, all the people are in distress."
