The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an advisory to States and Union Territories for ensuring mandatory action by police in cases of crime against women.

MHA has lifted restrictions from various activities, in regards the re-opening of schools and colleges in the country, the decision remains the same.

In the midst of the corona virus epidemic, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday issued advisory for Independence Day celebrations on 15 August.

"We do not have any such situation in West Bengal. It is a very peaceful state. Ask the central government to send advisory to the Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat governments," Banerjee, also the ruling TMC supremo, told reporters.

A new home ministry order permits investigating agencies to intercept, monitor and decrypt any information generated, transmitted, received or stored in any computer. This means not just calls or emails, but any data found on a computer can be intercepted. The agencies will also have powers to seize the devices.
