New Delhi: Many areas of the country are getting extremely cold these days. There is fog and cold wave is also going on. Rain and hail may also occur in some states of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance is about to reach North India, due to which there may be rain in the plains and snowfall in the mountains.

Rain and Snowfall in Mountain:

Due to this Western Disturbance, a cyclonic circulation is seen over parts of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan. Most parts of North India may receive rain and snowfall in the mountains. Due to rain and snowfall, there may be a cold wave in the plains. Apart from this, minimum and maximum temperatures are also likely to go down by 2 to 3 degrees before the new year.

Winters in North India:

The meteorological department has said in its forecast that the effect of western disturbance will be seen in the north Indian states. Some areas may receive moderate rainfall. Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad are expected to receive good rains. While Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are also expected to receive heavy rains. Light rain is expected on December 27 and 28 in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Along with this, there may be heavy rains in South Indian states.

Cold Waves in Haryana Punjab:

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of terrible cold wave in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh and Northern Rajasthan. With this, the department has advised the local administration to take measures to deal with it. In Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand will start from 27 December and in western Uttar Pradesh 28 and Eastern Uttar Pradesh from 29 December.

The forecast has been issued by the Meteorological Department till December 30. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in most areas of northwest, central and eastern India will be 2 to 6 degree Celsius below normal. The Meteorological Department has said that by December 27, the minimum temperature will rise by 2 to 3 degrees, but after this the mercury can go down by 3 to 5 degrees. The maximum temperature can also go down to 5 ° C during 28 to 30 December.
