Akola: Setting a new record a 22-year-old 'Divyang' (differently- abled) mountaineer, Dhiraj Kalsait, from Akola in Maharashtra successfully scaled Europe's highest peak, Mount Elbruson August 16.

He started his climb on the night of August 15 and reached the summit at 8.30 am the next day.

Kalsait has also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in South Africa in the past.

Mount Elbrus is a dormant volcano in the Caucasus Mountains in Southern Russia and is the tenth most prominent peak in the world.

It is to be mentioned that the Caucasus mountains are at the intersection of Europe and Asia, near the border with Georgia.
