Supreme Court on BS4 Vehicles: No extension in deadline

Supreme court has ordered automobile dealers to not sell BS IV vehicles after 31st March, 2020. According to reports sellers asked supreme court to sell BS4 vehicles till April month. But Supreme court refused their request.

Supreme court has already ordered on 23rd July 2018 that from 1st april 2020, only BS6 vehicles will be sold.

In August, the finance minister gave relief to the auto mobile sector:

In August, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave a big relief for the auto mobile sector to achieve the highest growth of the economy. During that time, the date of purchase and registration of vehicles with BS-4 standard was extended. He said that not only India but the big countries of the world are going through a bad economy. However, Sitharaman had also said that India's growth is better than many other countries.

FADA( Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations of India) filed an application in December in Supreme court for the new date of deadline. But supreme court rejected their request.

Big automobile companies like TATA Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are all set to launch their model of BS6 standards.
