New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that National Voters' Day is an opportunity to appreciate the remarkable contribution of the Election Commission in strengthening the democratic fabric of the country by holding elections smoothly.

National Voters' Day is celebrated on 25 January every year on the occasion of Election Commission's Foundation Day.

It is also a day to spread awareness about the need to ensure voter registration, especially among the youth.

e-EPIC facility by Election Commission:

On Monday, today, on the occasion of 'National Voters Day', the Election Commission has started the facility of e-EPIC. This means that from today you can download a PDF copy of your voter ID from home. Let us know that on the occasion of National Voters Day, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad introduced this facility. He also gave elector photo identity cards to five voters.

All new voters who have applied for the card in November-December 2020 and whose mobile number has also been entered, will be given e-EPIC first. They will get an SMS with the help of which they will be able to download the digital voter identity card from 25 January to 31 January 2021.

How to check it online?

The e-EPIC card will be available in PDF format. Voters will be able to access this card by visiting https://voterportal.eci.gov.in/ and https://www.nvsp.in/ website.
