New Delhi: North India is getting extremely cold. Due to snowfall in the hilly areas, there is freezing cold in the plains. Along with this, cold wave has increased chill. The Meteorological Department has said that from Monday, the minimum temperature of Delhi, UP, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh will once again fall. This will increase the cold and will also cool the winds.

Cold Wave continue to havoc North India:

According to the Meteorological Department, severe cold will continue in UP till January 26 and for two days in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Along with this, cold wave will continue in North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh and Western Madhya Pradesh by 27 January.

This change in weather has occurred due to the movement of Western Disturbance from Jammu and Kashmir to the northeast from Monday.

Winter nights:

The Meteorological Department has said that Kufri, Bharmour, Kelong and Kalpa in Himachal Pradesh received snowfall. With this, some areas of Himachal have received moderate rainfall. Kelong, the administrative center of Lahaul-Spiti, is the coldest region in the state with the temperature dropping to minus 9.2 degrees Celsius.

Night temperatures in Rajasthan were above normal. Bhilwara recorded the lowest temperature of 6 degrees. Officials said the minimum temperature dropped after Sunday's snowfall in most parts of Kashmir, but there was also sunshine in the morning amidst clouds.

Official said that the temperature in Srinagar was minus 1.9 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, Gulmarg had a low of minus 11 degrees Celsius on Saturday night. Pahalgam's temperature was minus 12 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological department has forecast that the minimum temperature in Delhi on January 27 can once again go up to 4 degrees Celsius. Snowfall is likely to occur in high altitude areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand due to the easterly disturbance, while the cold, dry winds blowing from the snow-capped mountains can further increase.

Let us know that many states of the country including Uttar Pradesh and Delhi have been getting cold for some days. The cold winds have added to people's woes.
