Mehbooba Mufti appeared before the Enforcement Directorate today i.e. Thursday on a money laundering case. She had reached office in Srinagar to appear before the ED.

New Delhi: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti appeared before the Enforcement Directorate today i.e. Thursday on a money laundering case. She had reached office in Srinagar to appear before the ED.

Mehbooba mufti appears before ED:

Actually, ED had sent summons to Mehbooba Mufti on this matter on March 5 and asked to appear in Delhi on March 15 for questioning. After this, on March 22, the ED called him for questioning at his office in Delhi. Earlier, on March 19, the Delhi High Court refused to stay his summons.

Earlier, on 22 March, she did not appear at the ED headquarters. He said that he had pre-determined commitments, which could not be rescinded. The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said that she is ready for interrogation in Srinagar. Also she would prefer the inquiry through her residence or video conference.

Charge sheet issued against PDP leader:

On the other hand, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed a charge sheet against PDP leader Waheed ur Rehman Parra and two others for providing funds for terrorist activities. The NIA said that the young leader had an important role in maintaining the "political-separatist-terrorist" nexus in Jammu and Kashmir.

A NIA spokesman said that in addition to Parra, a charge sheet has also been filed against Shaheen Ahmed Lone and Tafjul Hussain Parimu. According to the investigating agency, both these people were involved in providing funds for terrorists from across the Line of Control (LoC) and carrying out terrorist activities at the behest of the bosses in Pakistan.
