New Delhi: India has become tighter over Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's remarks on the Formers movement. The Canadian High Commissioner based in New Delhi was summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday.

Canadian leaders remark on Farmers:

The Foreign Ministry said that the remarks of Canadian leaders on the issues of farmers are an unbearable interference in our internal affairs.

The Ministry told the High Commissioner that the remarks of the Prime Minister of Canada, some Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament on issues related to Indian farmers are interference in our internal affairs, it will not be accepted at all.

Such actions, if continued, would have a seriously damaging impact on ties between India and Canada. These comments have encouraged gatherings of extremist activities in front of our High Commission and Consulates in Canada that raise issues of safety and security: MEA

Canada Govt should ensure safety of Indians :

The Ministry of External Affairs said, "If such a comment continues, it will have a severely damaging effect on relations between India and Canada."

"These comments have encouraged meetings of extremist activities in front of our High Commission and Consulates in Canada that raise questions on the issue of security," the ministry said. It said, "We expect the Government of Canada to ensure the safety of Indian diplomatic personnel."

Indeed, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau commented on the performance of farmers in India. The Canadian PM said that Canada will always stand to protect the rights to peaceful demonstrations. He supported Indian farmers in his statement and said that the situation in the country is worrisome.
