IMD records Heavy Rain in August Month; Sees 25% more than normal

Scientists of the Indian Meteorological Department have said that this year India has received the highest rainfall since August 1976. According to the Meteorological Department, after 44 years, rain has set a new record in India.

Heavy Rain after 44 years:

According to meteorological data, earlier this year the country had seen so much rain in 1976. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department says that there is a situation of active monsoon for the next three days. That is, there is a change in the rainfall which is 25 percent more than normal.

57 percent above average rain:

The country has received an average of 296.2 mm of rainfall in August, while in general, in India, it receives only 237.1 mm of rain in August. On the other hand, according to the data released by IMD, central India received the highest rainfall in August. 57 percent above average, while East and Northeast India received 18 percent less rainfall than average.

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure system was created in July, but it was soon over. Many low pressures were created in August, due to which there was more rain in central India. However, the Meteorological Department says that there may be less than normal rainfall in September.

Meteorological Department Chairman Mrityunjay Mahapatra said that the monsoon is moving towards northwest India at this time, while the southern states may get some relief from heavy rains in the coming weeks. Apart from this, he said that IMD had issued a forecast of rain in Delhi after August 25, which proved to be correct and it rained in the national capital on Friday.
