New Delhi: The cases of corona infection, which have been continuously increasing in the country for the past several days, have once again put everyone in tension. On Monday, 26,291 new cases of the virus have been reported in the country, which is the highest number of infections in the last 85 days.

With this, the total number of people found so far in the country has increased to 1.13 crore. Earlier, on December 20, 26,624 new cases of infection were reported.

According to data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am, 26,291 new cases were reported on Monday and 118 people died. A total of 1,58,725 people have died due to infection in the country so far.

The ministry said that the total number of infected people has so far crossed 1 crore 13 lakh 85 thousand. Out of these, more than one crore 10 lakh 7 thousand patients have been completely infection free.

The recovery rate of patients has been steadily declining and currently it has come down to 96.86 percent, while the death rate has been 1.39 percent. Active cases are also increasing rapidly due to the increase in new cases. At present, the number of active cases has increased to 2,19,262, which is 1.93 percent of the total infected people.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 22 crore 74 lakh 7 thousand samples have been tested across the country so far to detect the corona virus. In which 7 lakh 3 thousand 772 samples were tested on Sunday 14 March.
