Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to wipe out Palestinian terrorist organisation Hamas from the face of the Earth and formed an emergency government to direct the war against Hamas.

The government has indicated that the ground offensive in Gaza will begin soon and will continue until Hamas is completely eliminated.

Netanyahu, who has been at war with the Palestinian group Hamas for the last seven days pledged to continue the fight and said that every Hamas fighter should now 'consider himself dead'.

In his statement, the Israeli Prime Minister, for the first time after the sudden attack by Hamas last Saturday, clearly expressed Israel's intention to completely 'destroy' Hamas. In a brief televised statement, Benjamin Netanyahu said, "Hamas is Daesh (Islamic State group)... We will crush them, destroy them, just as the world has destroyed Daesh..."

Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Galant also said, "We will wipe out Hamas from the face of this earth..."

Netanyahu, setting aside his political differences, has formed an emergency government for this time of trouble, in which centrist former Defense Minister Benny Gantz has also been included.

It is noteworthy that this emergency government will direct the war against Hamas. The new government has indicated that a ground attack will soon begin in Gaza and the Israeli attack will continue until Hamas is completely destroyed. Israel has been pounding Gaza with air strikes after the Hamas attack.

Most of the Gaza Strip's 2.3 million people have no electricity or water and 340,000 are now homeless. And, with hundreds of Israeli rocket attacks raining down on their small area, they have nowhere to run. With the only other border crossing into the Gaza Strip blocked by Egyptian authorities, people said they were trapped. Egypt has refused to grant asylum to refugees fleeing Israel.

Israel began retaliating after Hamas fired 5,000 rockets at Israel on Saturday. Israel has attacked Gaza Strip and especially many Hamas positions. There is news of more than 900 people dying in this.
