Kabul: At least 61 people have lost their lives and several wounded in an explosion on Saturday where about 100 Shia Hazaras were protesting, said officials.
Injured were rushed to the nearby hospitals.
“The nature of the blast was not immediately clear,” said Fraidoon Obaidi, chief of Kabul's Criminal Investigation Department.
Officials, however, confirmed three suicide bombers at Kabul rally.
“I was in the crowd of protesters when a loud bang occurred nearby. Many people have been killed or injured -- I am in deep shock,” said protest organiser Jawad Naji.
ISIS has claimed the responsibility of the dreadful attack.
