America orders to make Doomsday plane, will not be affected during nuclear attack

The US Air Force has given a contract to aircraft manufacturing company Sierra Nevada Corporation to build a new plane in place of the E-4B plane. This contract is worth 13 billion dollars. This plane is also known as Doomsday planes, which has the ability to survive a nuclear war. It will protect the US President and military officials in case of any nuclear attack. At present America has a fleet of 4 Doomsday planes. Sierra Nevada Corporation has previously manufactured aircraft for the US Air Force. The E-4B or Doomsday plane will be built to replace the retiring EYB planes.

How is this special plane?

The E-4B aircraft are designed as a mobile command post, which will be able to withstand nuclear attacks and the effects of electromagnets. That means they are not affected by any nuclear attack and it also protects the people sitting in the plane from radiation. The windows in the plane are nominal. The plane is equipped with many satellite dishes and antennas, through which ships, warships and submarines can be contacted in case of emergency. These aircraft can refuel in the air itself. It will have the facility of conference as well as briefing room.

Expected to be built by 2036

According to the US Air Force, the old aircraft of the 1970s are to be replaced under the Survivable Airborne Operation Center (SAOC) project. According to Air Force sources, these aircraft will complete their services by the beginning of 2030. Instead, an order has been placed for new E-4B aircraft. These doomsday planes are expected to be built by 2036.

America currently has four E-YB aircraft

The US Air Force currently has four E-YB aircraft, one of which remains on alert at all times. Last year, the Air Force had removed the Boeing plane from the race to replace the E-YB. Because there were many difficulties in their maintenance.
