UP govt transfers 178 officers in major bureaucratic reshuffle

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday effected a major reshuffle of 20 Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 62 Indian Police Service (IPS) and 96 Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officers.

District Magistrates (DMs) have been restructured in three districts while three of the IAS officers are kept under waiting list.

According to reports, the post of Divisional Commissioner in the state capital was vacant since Mahesh Gupta was withdrawn from its charge. Now, the charge of Commissioner has given to T Venkatesh.
