Allahabad: Some of the real estate agents ( builders) have violated the government’s orders with regard to housing activities with impunity. One such case has come up for hearing in the Allahabad High Court. Taking note, the court has asked chief secretary of the state to ensure that the principal secretary housing was present in the court on tenth of next week with details of licences given to different builders.
The court has taken a serious view in light of the fact that this real estate agent was given licence in 2005 when the Real Estate Agents Act came into being in 2008. It was not a class A builder but it was registered as such.
Another anomaly pointed out by the petitioner is that it obtained licence on a false information. The builder owned only 90 acres of land but it gave an affidavit claiming that it had 7000 acres in its possession. All this cannot happen without the connivance of officials, the petitioner has alleged.
The court is also seized with another matter-- can the government allot land acquired by it to a private builder as had happened in this case? If proper inquiry is made more skeletons may be found in the cupboard.
