Is this the major reason behind CBSE paper leak?

New Delhi: When the concern CBSE heads should have developed a foolproof strategy for the smooth examinations, the Board Chairman Anita Karwal was busy travelling places for the launch of her travelogue book - Kailash Mansarovar – Cycle Rides Soul Journeys’.

The paper leak case is definitely the CBSE's inability to prevent malfunctions in board examinations. Why punish students and burden them with re-test?

Interestingly, just a week before the CBSE Board Exams, the 1988 batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer Anita Karwal was busy in promotions and launch of her new book.

Karwal took the charge of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on August 31, 2017 replacing Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi.

This year, 16,38,428 students registered for Class X and 11,86,306 for the Class XII board examinations that began on March 5.

What is the case?

The CBSE on Wednesday said it will re-conduct examination in the maths and economics papers for Class X and Class XII respectively following the leak of question papers even as a Delhi Police probe is underway.

“The CBSE has decided to re-conduct the examination to uphold the sanctity of board examinations and in the interest of fairness to the students,” said a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) statement.

The new dates for the examinations and other details will be hosted on the CBSE website within a week.

The CBSE faced a hailstorm of rebukes and criticism on Wednesday after it announced that two papers of class X and XII will be re-conducted on account of their being leaked earlier, with the victims admitting the incident has shaken their faith in the school board.

Parents and students in unison dubbed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) "incompetent" and flayed it for "playing with the future of the students" by re-conducting the maths and economics exams for Class X and Class XII respectively.
