Two killed as 1940s building collapses in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: As many as two people named Akbar(40) and Wajid(28) died after an old construction building collapsed in the area of Chilkalguda in Secunderabad. The incident happened in the wee hours on Tuesday.

According to police:

  • The building was built in 1940.
  • Akbar was a butcher and Wajid was an employee.
  • Around 70 police were on duty during the 'Bonalu' festival and were rushed to help the rescue operation.
