Senior officer shared the information with Pakistan, suspended
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Tanveer Ahmad, has been suspended by the Director general of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir for passing sensitive information about the deployment of security to intelligence agencies in Pakistan.
Srinagar: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Tanveer Ahmad, has been suspended by the Director general of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir for passing sensitive information about the deployment of security to intelligence agencies in Pakistan.
The DGP, K Rajendra Kumar, suspended Ahmad and ordered probe against him. The suspension order was issued only after the state police received a report from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs .
According to official sources, Ahmad shared many sensitive information regarding the security during ongoing unrest in the Kashmir Valley. Ahmad made several contacts with Pakistani agents on telephone.
DGP said," it looked like a case of negligence."
According to Ahmad," I received a call month ago from a man who claimed to be an Army commander and wanted the information regarding the deployment of security personnel across the valley. I had taken the permission of Superintendent of Police (SP) before sharing the information with the caller."
The information was also shared on Whatsapp which was traced by the ministry.
