Natural disaster on Gujarat, hailstorm along with unseasonal rain, 14 people died

Normal life got disrupted due to untimely torrential rains in Gujarat yesterday. 14 people lost their lives due to heavy rains.

According to the government department, all these 14 people died due to lightning. Along with this, there is also a fear that the death toll will increase. 40 cattle have also died due to heavy rains. The biggest impact of heavy rains has been in Amreli, Surendranagar, Mehsana, Botad, Panchmahal, Kheda, Sabarkantha, Surat and Ahmedabad districts of Gujarat.

Along with heavy rains, strong winds with a speed of 5 kilometers per hour have also occurred in these districts. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning for fishermen in the areas of South Gujarat and has issued an alert of rain with winds at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

Along with unseasonal rains, hailstorm also fell in many areas in Nashik district of Maharashtra. Due to this, farmers have suffered huge loss of crops. It rained along with thunder and lightning in Niphad, Lasalgaon, Manmad and Chandwad areas of Nashik.

The farmers fear huge losses in grape and onion cultivation. Meanwhile, the water level of Godavari river has increased due to release of water from Gangapur Dam in Nashik into Jaikwadi. Because of this, tourists' vehicles got stuck in water on the banks of the river. On the other hand, due to unseasonal rains, there is a danger of flood in many areas of the city.

Elsewhere in the country also, temperatures registered a sharp decline heralding the onset of the winters. The Met office predicted that the temperatures would decline further in the days to come. Snowfall in the higher reaches of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh was also expected in the next few days.
