Kolkata Gang Rape Case Brutal Story

Kolkata Gang Rape Case Brutal Story: In a harrowing revelation, the victim of the alleged gangrape at Kolkata Law College has shared her complete statement with the police, shedding light on the brutal incident. Three individuals — including one former and two current students — have been arrested. The case has gained further political traction after it emerged that one of the accused is a youth leader affiliated with the Trinamool Congress. The incident took place on the evening of June 25 in the college guard room, located adjacent to the students’ union office.

It is deeply disturbing that in today’s society, women continue to remain unsafe — whether in educational institutions, workplaces, or public spaces. Their pursuit of education or employment is too often marred by acts of brutality at the hands of men.

What Happened on the Day of the Incident?

After filing a police complaint, the victim provided a detailed account of the events that unfolded on the day of the crime. She stated that she had gone to the college on Wednesday to submit her exam form. While most students had left after completing the process, Manonit Mishra asked her and seven other students to remain in the union room. There, he offered her biscuits and proposed that she be given a significant position in the student union.

The survivor explained that she was deeply committed to the college union and was willing to work for the unit. Following this, Manonit Mishra took her out of the union room and proposed marriage. She flatly refused. In response, he forcibly dragged her to the college guard room, where the assault took place.

The Survivor’s Testimony: A Tale of Horror

In her complaint, the survivor recounted,

“I held his feet and begged him to let me go, but he wouldn’t. They forcibly took me to the guard room, undressed me, and raped me.”

She further revealed that the accused recorded a video of the assault and threatened to leak it if she approached the police.

When she tried to resist and escape, she was beaten with a hockey stick. The perpetrators only let her go after she started having panic attacks and said she was struggling to breathe. She pleaded to be taken to the hospital, but they ignored her and merely allowed her to use her inhaler from her bag.

She was finally released at 10:50 PM. Immediately after, she called her father, who came and took her home.

Who Are the Accused?

The three arrested in the case include:

1. Manonit Mishra – Former student leader of the Trinamool Congress college unit, expelled from the group in 2021. He graduated in 2022 and started practicing law. Despite his background, he had recently returned to the college as an ad-hoc non-teaching staff.

2. Pramit Mukherjee – A first-year student considered to be close to Manonit Mishra.

3. Jaib Ahmed – A second-year student, also known to be closely associated with Mishra.

This horrifying incident has triggered a wave of outrage across West Bengal, once again highlighting the vulnerability of women and the urgent need for strict institutional safety measures. The case has not only shaken the academic community but also stirred political and social debates about accountability, student politics, and justice for survivors.
