Big Claim: Are Congress Promises Really Fake?
Kishan Reddy warns Kerala voters against Congress promises, citing Telangana example and urging focus on real governance and financial stability.

G. Kishan Reddy has openly told Kerala voters to not trust Congress promises, calling them “fake” based on what he says happened in Telangana. His main point is simple, promises sound good during elections but many don’t actually reach people later. He asked voters to check facts before believing anything. That’s the core of his message, straight and direct.
What He Said About Telangana Reality
Reddy used Telangana as a full example to explain his claim. He said Congress came to power there with big guarantees, but many are still not delivered. According to him, farmers were promised money support per acre and labour benefits, but payments haven’t reached even after multiple seasons.
He also mentioned promises like higher MSP and bonuses for crops. Those too, he says, remain mostly on paper. The bigger issue he raised is trust, once promises break, people start questioning everything. That feeling, it stays longer than elections.
Farmers Still Waiting, Says BJP Leader
One strong point in his statement was about farmers. He claimed nearly 40 lakh farmers are still waiting for loan waivers. That’s not a small number, it’s huge if true.
He also talked about financial stress in the state. According to him, Telangana’s debt has crossed very high levels. When promises are made without planning, this happens, he said. It sounds harsh, but that’s the argument he is pushing strongly.
Women Promises Also Under Question
Reddy didn’t stop at farmers. He also raised issues about schemes promised to women. Monthly financial help, gold support, and benefits for poor families were part of the election talk.
But he claimed these have not reached people yet. If voters hear big numbers and benefits, expectations go up. And when delivery slows or stops, disappointment grows. That gap between promise and reality is what he highlighted again and again.
Why Kerala Was Specifically Targeted
This message was not random. It was clearly aimed at voters in Kerala where elections are approaching. Reddy warned people to not get influenced by advertisements or speeches.
He even said Kerala deserves better governance, not just election-time promises. It’s a political move, yes, but also a strategy. Using another state’s example to influence voters here, that’s quite common in Indian politics now.
Attack on Congress Campaign Style
Reddy also criticised Congress campaigns, saying they rely on emotional appeal and big announcements. He pointed out that such promises need strong financial planning, which according to him, was missing.
He mentioned that simply announcing schemes doesn’t mean they will work. Ground execution matters more. And voters, he said, should look at past performance before deciding their future vote.
NDA Position and Pitch to Voters
While criticising Congress, Reddy also promoted the NDA government under Narendra Modi. He claimed NDA delivers what it promises and focuses on development and stability.
He asked Kerala voters to give BJP a chance, saying they have stayed committed to the state. It’s a direct appeal, clearly political, but framed as advice. Whether people believe it or not, that depends on what they have seen themselves.
What This Means For Voters Now
So what should voters do with all this? Honestly, it comes down to checking facts and past work. Political claims will always come from both sides, that’s normal.
But decisions should be based on real delivery, not just words. Reddy’s message may be political, but the idea of verifying promises, that makes sense for any voter. Elections pass quickly, but their impact stays for years.
