Protests across K'taka against Katappa; Baahubali release in trouble

Bengaluru: Baahubali director SS Rajamouli has made an emotional appeal to the people of Karanataka, who have staged massive protest against the Katappa actor Sathyaraj for his derogatory remarks over the sensitive Cauvery Water row nine years ago.

Rajamouli, through a video message on Twitter, has appealed the pro-Kannada outfits to reconsider their protest.

He, in his message, said, "Rajamouli said that it's unfair to target Sathyaraj and the actor has nothing to lose if the film doesn't release as planned. He requested to accept Baahubali: The Conclusion the way part I was received."

The pro-Kannada activists, however, have demanded an apology from Sathyaraj and even called for Karnataka Bandh on April 28, the day Baahubali: The Conclusion is slated for release.

Baahubali 2 stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Ramya Krishna in pivotal roles. The film will be released across 6,500 screens in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages on April 28.
