Firing outside Salman Khan’s residence

In a shocking incident, two unidentified bike-borne men opened fire near the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in Mumbai in the wee hours of Sunday.

Salman Khan (58) lives with his parents and family at Galaxy Apartments in the Bandra sea-face area of Mumbai.

Three to four rounds were fired, initial reports said.

It is not immediately known whether Salman was at home.

Teams of Bandra police station and Crime Branch-CID have rushed to the spot.

A team of forensic and ballistic experts too have reached the spot.

Over the past years, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan, an eminent scriptwriter has been facing death threats.

Since the 1998 blackbuck poaching incident, ganglord Lawrence Bishnoi has been after Salman.

In 2022, Salim Khan, during the morning stroll found a note saying “Salim Khan…Salman Khan… bahut jald aapka Moose Wala hoga” - a reference to Sidhu Moose Wala, a Punjabi rapper, who was shot dead.

In the past, the Mumbai police had upgraded the security cover of Salman Khan and was issued a gun license. Around a year ago, he had acquired a new state-of-the-art bullet proof SUV giving an additional layer of protection.
