Big B launches biography of Shatrughan: Anything but Khamosh

Mumbai: Bollywood Shehenshah, Amitabh Bachchan, on Friday launched the biography of his colleague Shatrughan Sinha in Mumbai.

Shatrughan's daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, became the cynosure of the evening when she read an excerpt from her father's book 'Anything but Khamosh - The Shatrughan Sinha's biography'.

"The 338-page book retraces the encouragements and heartaches of the country's most popular 'Bihari Babu' and is based on a seven-year research, 37 interviews and over 200 long hours of taped conversations", said the author.

  • The book is written by Columnist, Critic and author Bharathi S Pradhan and published by Om Books International.
  • Senior Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Yashwant Sinha, along with Film-maker Subhash Ghai was also present at the book launch event.
  • Big B, on his Facebook, posted, "FB 1250 - Shatrughan Sinha releases his biography which I Chief Guest ... an evening of remembrance, fun banter and the warmth of friendships"
  • “It is one of the most honest biographies you will get to see,” said author Bharthi S Pradhan.
  • The book says being neglected in the BJP was difficult for Sinha to tackle after a time he became its poster boy.
  • Politics is just one part of the book which also deals with his early years in Bollywood.
  • How he first saw his now wife Poonam as a school girl on a train and fell for her is well described in the book.
  • His close ties with top Pakistani leaders and the story behind are also mentioned on the pages of 'Anything but Khamosh.'
