CBSE is expected to take a final call today about board exams in Middle East countries affected by the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. Earlier, the board already postponed exams scheduled for March 5 and 6 for safety reasons. Students studying in that region now waiting for the next update, as exams from March 7 onward still uncertain.

The board has advised students to stay in touch with their schools and keep checking official announcements.

Why CBSE Postponed The Exams

The decision came after tensions suddenly increased in the Middle East. Air strikes and retaliation between different countries created a risky environment in some areas. Because of this, the Central Board of Secondary Education decided student safety must come first.

So the exams planned for March 5 and March 6 in affected countries were postponed. The board said it will review the situation before taking the next step.

For students living there, it has been a tense few days honestly. Exams are stressful already. Add global conflict news around you, and things get even harder to focus.

Students Told To Stay In Contact With Schools

CBSE clearly told students to remain connected with their schools for updates. Schools are the first place where new exam instructions will arrive.

Officials also asked students not to rely on rumors or social media chatter. Only official notices from CBSE or their schools should be trusted.

Many parents too are checking updates almost every hour. It’s normal. Board exams matter a lot for students’ academic future.

Board Exams Continue Normally In Other Countries

While Middle East centres face uncertainty, exams in India and other regions are going on as planned. After a short break for the Holi festival on March 3 and 4, exams resumed again.

On Thursday, Class 10 students appeared for several language papers including Sindhi, Malayalam, Odia, Assamese, Kannada and Kokborok. The exam timing stayed the same, from 10:30 in the morning to 1:30 in the afternoon.

Class 12 students meanwhile sat for the Psychology paper during the same time slot. For them too, the schedule remains unchanged for now.

Over 43 Lakh Students Taking CBSE Exams

This year the CBSE board exams are huge in scale. More than 43 lakh students are appearing overall. Around 25 lakh belong to Class 10, while nearly 18.5 lakh students are writing the Class 12 exams.

The examination cycle started on February 17. On the very first day, Class 10 students wrote Mathematics papers, both Basic and Standard versions.

Class 12 candidates took exams in subjects like Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Engineering Graphics and Business Studies.

When The Exams Will End

According to the official schedule, Class 10 board exams will finish on March 10. Class 12 exams will continue longer and end on April 10.

In total, Class 10 students are appearing for 83 subjects this year. Class 12 students have an even wider list with 120 subjects.

For students in the Middle East region though, the main question right now is simple. When exactly will their postponed exams happen.

CBSE’s decision expected today should bring some clarity. Until then, students are doing what they can. Preparing, waiting, and hoping the situation around them becomes calmer soon.
