From Newsrooms to Narratives: AI Takes Focus at SPARK Dialogue in BBAU Lucknow by SESR Foundation
Lucknow, April 1, 2026: An engaging academic dialogue on the growing role of artificial intelligence in media and communication was held at the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, under the SPARK Think Tank Campus Dialogue Series by SESR (Social & Economic Sustainability & Reforms) Foundation.
The session aimed to create awareness among students about emerging trends at the intersection of media, technology, and society. Supported by Satya MRI, the programme brought together industry experts and academicians for an interactive exchange of ideas.
Welcoming the participants, Dr. Govind Ji Pandey, HOD, Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication, highlighted that artificial intelligence has become an integral part of modern journalism. He noted that AI is transforming newsroom practices through faster data processing, automated content generation, and personalized news delivery. However, he cautioned that issues such as misinformation, ethical concerns, and editorial accountability must be carefully addressed, urging students to uphold journalistic integrity alongside technological adoption.
Anoop Mishra spoke on the role of AI in modern public relations, emphasizing its impact on brand communication and digital storytelling. Prem Shankar Mishra discussed the challenges of maintaining credibility and ethical standards in AI-driven journalism, while Dr. Ruchita Sujai Chowdhary elaborated on both opportunities and risks associated with AI in the media landscape.
The programme, conducted under the guidance of Prof. Kunwar Surendra Bahdur Singh, witnessed active student participation and discussions.
Rakesh Mishra emphasized the importance of such platforms in preparing students for future challenges. The vote of thanks was delivered by Advisor SESR Foundation Akhilesh Kumar Singh.
