Education (PC- Social Media)

The NIOS Date Sheet 2026 is officially out, and exams for Class 10 and 12 will start from April 10, 2026. Students can check the full subject-wise schedule online and begin planning seriously now. Most exams will happen in the afternoon, and the last paper is on May 6. If you’re preparing, this is the moment to lock your strategy.

What NIOS just announced

The National Institute of Open Schooling has released the full theory exam schedule for both Class 10 and Class 12. This update came on March 25, and students were waiting for it honestly for quite some time.

The date sheet is available on the official website, and it includes all subjects clearly. Anyone registered under Secondary or Senior Secondary courses can check their exam dates easily. It feels a bit real now, like exams are actually around the corner.

Also, practical exams are already going on. They started from March 17 and will end by April 1. So yeah, things are already moving fast, no time to waste now.

When exams will begin and end

The theory exams will begin from April 10, 2026, across different centers in India. Most papers are scheduled in the afternoon shift, usually from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

That timing actually helps some students, because mornings can be stressful sometimes. But still, managing your energy becomes important, since exams stretch till evening.

The last exam will be conducted on May 6, 2026. So overall, students get almost a month to complete all papers. It sounds long, but it goes very fast, you won’t even notice.

State-wise changes you should know

Now here’s something important. NIOS has made slight changes in exam dates for some states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.

These changes happened because of elections, holidays, and other exams. So if you’re from any of these states, you really should double check your schedule again.

Sometimes students ignore updates and then get confused later. That shouldn’t happen, just keep checking regularly and stay updated, it’s simple but important.

Admit card and exam rules

Students will need to download their admit cards before the exam. Without it, entry won’t be allowed, so don’t leave it for last day, that’s risky honestly.

One good thing is that NIOS gives 15 minutes extra before the exam starts. This time is just for reading the question paper. It helps to understand questions properly, which many students don’t use wisely.

Also, once the schedule is released, it will not change. So whatever dates are given now, they are final. Plan everything according to that only, no guessing games.

Result timeline and what to expect

After exams are done, results are expected in around seven weeks. So maybe by June or early July, students might get their results online.

The result will be published on the official website, and students can check using their details. It’s always better to keep checking updates instead of waiting blindly.

Right now, the focus should be on preparation. The date sheet is here, everything is clear. Just start studying properly, little consistency daily will help more than last minute pressure, trust me.
