CBSE Clears Air on Exam Cancellation Rumour in Middle East
CBSE clarifies that Class 10 and 12 board exams in the Middle East are not cancelled, calls viral notice fake and urges students to check official updates.
CBSE (PC- Social Media)
CBSE has confirmed that Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in the Middle East region are not cancelled. A viral notice claiming cancellation due to war conditions is fake. The board said the circular is not authentic and an official update will follow soon. Students are advised to rely only on cbse.gov.in for real information.
What Was the Viral Notice About
The rumour claimed that exams in some Middle Eastern countries were being cancelled due to extraordinary global situations. It even mentioned cancellation of language papers till February 28. It also said the Class 10 Social Science exam scheduled for March 7, 2026, would not take place.
That message spread fast. Parents got worried. Students started calling schools.
But the board stepped in quickly.
CBSE’s Official Clarification
Central Board of Secondary Education clearly stated that the notice is fake. In an official post on X, the board called it false information. It said students should not panic.
The board exams are currently being held smoothly. Exams are taking place at 8,074 centres for Class 10 and 7,574 centres for Class 12. This includes centres in India and across 26 countries abroad.
More than 43 lakh students are appearing this year. That is a huge number. Any rumour like this creates confusion very quickly.
Exam Dates and Student Numbers
The Class 10 and 12 exams began on February 17, 2026. They will continue till April 10, 2026. Around 25 lakh students are appearing for Class 10. For Class 12, about 18 lakh students are taking the exams.
Among Class 10 candidates, nearly 14 lakh are boys and 10.9 lakh are girls. In Class 12, about 10.2 lakh boys and 8.3 lakh girls are writing papers.
These numbers show how large the system is. A fake circular can disturb many families.
Why Students Should Stay Calm
Exams already bring stress. Add rumours, and it becomes worse. That is why CBSE asked students to check only the official website for updates. Social media forwards are not always true, sometimes not at all.
If there is any real change, the board will release a proper notification. Schools will inform students directly as well.
Right now, there is no cancellation in the Middle East region. The Social Science paper on March 7 remains scheduled as planned.
Final Word for Students
It is easy to panic when headlines look scary. But facts matter more. The Central Board of Secondary Education has clearly denied the fake notice.
So focus on revision. Sleep properly. Keep checking cbse.gov.in for verified updates. Do not trust random screenshots.
Board exams are important, yes. But staying calm is important too. And at this moment, exams are continuing as scheduled.
