If you thought marriages are decided in the heavens then you would be forced to re-think after an incident in Bihar.

A shocking marriage case has come to light from Bihar. Some people allegedly kidnapped a teacher and then forcibly got him married with a woman at gun point.

According to the reports, the bullies also beat up the kidnapped teacher. In fact, about a month ago in Vaishali district of Bihar, a BPSE teacher was kidnapped by some miscreants while going to school, after which there was a stir.

The school principal informed the teacher's family about this. After this the family members lodged a report of kidnapping. Police investigation revealed that the teacher had been forced into a marriage at gun point.

In fact, the tradition of this evil practice in Bihar was at its peak in the 70s and 80s, and while the incidence of such marriages had declined, some of its effects still persist. In forced marriage, the girl's family forcibly gets their daughter married to a boy who has a job or earns good money.

Some experts say that such a practice started because most of the youth in Bihar are unemployed, in such a situation, when a boy gets a job or starts earning good money, the girl's family arranges a forced marriage for the daughter. Apart from this, a section of people also believe that the number of poor people is more and hence the boys from good families demand dowry and they are unable to give it. That's why they arrange a forced marriage for their daughters.

The Patna High Court had made important comments regarding this marriage. The court had said that this type of marriage is illegal and invalid. This violates the right to life.
