Jio becomes first telecom operator with 4 crore subscribers in UP-East- TRAI Report

Jio has been consistently adding maximum number of subscribers every month and has surpassed all other operators in the region to enjoy the number one position.

Lucknow: Reliance Jio has become the first telecom company in UP-East to achieve 4 crore subscriber mark. As per telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) latest report, Jio added maximum number of subscribers to its network in March 2024 and crossed 4 crore subscriber base in the circle.

For past many months, Jio has been consistently adding maximum number of subscribers every month and has surpassed all other operators in the region to enjoy the number one position. TRAI’s report mentions that in March 2024, Jio added over 2.67 lakh subscribers to its network, taking its subscriber base to over 4 crores. Airtel added around 2.09 lakh subscribers in the month and could achieve 3.73 crore subscribers.

Similarly, other private telecom operator- Vodafone Idea could add only about 39 thousand subscribers in March, taking its subscriber base to about 1.74 crore. On the other hand, government operator BSNL lost a heavy chunk of about 4.5 lakh subscribers and is present in the circle with only about 73.90 lakh subscribers.

As per report, UP-East had around 10.21 crore telecom subscribers in March 2024, of which Jio enjoyed more than 40% subscriber share.
