A woman in Connecticut in the USA has filed a lawsuit against a restaurant after she allegedly chewed a human finger which was in the salad she was eating.

According to the media reports the salad served to her included a piece of the manager's finger.

Allison Causey, of Greenwich, Connecticut, filed the lawsuit alleging that she ordered the salad at a restaurant in Mount Kisco, New York on April 7, 2023. In the lawsuit, the woman said that while eating the salad, she realized that "along with the salad, she was also chewing a piece of a human finger, which was mixed into the salad."

"While she was eating the salad, she realized that she was chewing on a part of a human finger, which had been mixed into and made part of the salad," the complaint states.

Documents say a manager at the restaurant accidentally cut off a piece of his left index finger while cutting arugula. The lawsuit says the manager went to the hospital, but customers were served the same spoiled salad, with a severed part of the manager's finger falling out.

The Westchester County Health Department investigated the incident and fined the restaurant $900. Cozzi said in the lawsuit that according to the complaint, he suffered injuries including shock, panic attacks, migraines, cognitive impairment, nausea, dizziness and neck and shoulder pain as a result of eating the contaminated lettuce.

"She does not want to add to the stress and anxiety caused by this incident," Reibman said. "In accordance with New York law, her complaint does not include the dollar amount of monetary damages she is seeking. As a matter of common sense and public interest, monitoring food preparation and service in this manner is the restaurant's responsibility." "A failure and deserves significant compensation."
