WHO issues warning about starvation & escalating hunger in Afghanistan

New Delhi: The Taliban have captured the whole of Afghanistan. Along with this, there is an atmosphere of chaos there. Everyone wants to leave the country and run away from the Taliban. Meanwhile, after the Taliban's occupation in Afghanistan, there are clouds of crisis looming over humanity.

Warning of WHO:

The condition of health services in the country is also bad. In view of this, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a warning regarding health services in Afghanistan on Saturday. At present, due to war and violence in the country, a large number of people are victims of starvation and diseases.

The WHO has estimated that nearly half of Afghanistan's population, including 4 million women and 10 million children, is in urgent need of humanitarian aid. According to the report, UN agency spokesman Tariq Jasarevic said in a statement that the current drought in Afghanistan is expected to worsen the already dire situation.

Food and Water crisis:

A WHO spokesperson said, "With a focus on ensuring women's access to women health workers, health services should continue to be uninterrupted across the country."

He said, 'Most of the major health facilities are running for the people. This is happening on the basis of regional level monitoring. Health workers including women health workers have been called to return or stay at their respective posts.

Britain has meanwhile said that it will vaccinate the Afghan refugees coming to the country after fleeing the Taliban for corona virus infection. England, Scotland and Wales are also using emergency funds to provide homes and other aid to visiting Afghans.

So far, the UK has decided to double its funding of humanitarian aid to the region, the report said. The country wants to resettle around 20,000 vulnerable Afghans under a new resettlement program.
